  • Virat Kohli set up the new record for most runs in a single edition of the ODI World Cup. The Indian right-handed batter recorded 765 runs at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. Indian legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar was the previous record holder with 673 runs in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003.

  • Virat Kohli recorded nine 50+ scores at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup (three centuries and six half-centuries). It is the record for most 50+ scores by a batter in a single edition of the ODI World Cup. Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and Bangladesh legend Shakib Al Hasan recorded seven 50+ scores in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003 and ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, respectively.

  • Indian captain Rohit Sharma recorded the most runs by a captain in a single edition of the ODI World Cup. He broke New Zealand captain Kane Williamson’s record (578 runs in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019) by scoring 597 runs at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.
