United States (USA) wins third straight gold medal in the men’s 4 × 400 metres relay event at the World Athletics Championships after dominating with a gold medal in the 2023 edition in Budapest, Hungary.


World Athletics Championships 2023: Men’s 4 × 400 Metres Relay – USA had a strong performance

It was the final day of the exciting World Athletics Championships 2023 (August 27), where the USA were the favourite to win the title, who missed out on only one gold medal since the 2005 edition.

The race wasn’t any surprise, as USA teammates Quincy Hall, Vernon Norwood, Justin Robinson and Rai Benjamin ran strongly to defend the crown. They set the world-leading record by completing in 2:57.31. 

Team France set up the new national record (2:58.45) to secure the silver medal, while the Great Britain & Northern Ireland team bagged the bronze medal (2:58.71) with their season-best performance.


World Athletics Championships 2023: Men’s 4 × 400 Metres Relay – Team India shined despite no medal

Team Jamaica (2:59.34) and Team India (2:59.92) were the next two teams to finish the relay battle. It was a great experience for team India to earn the fifth spot, while Jamaica missed a podium finish after the last two silver medals.
