India won that match by 6 wickets

India finally won that Delhi Test by six wickets to take a 2-0 lead in the four-match Test series at the end of the second Test. The hosts not only secured the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the fourth successive time, but they have also moved closer to securing their place for the Final of the World Test Championship 2021-2023.

In the Delhi Test, Australia chose to bat first after winning the toss. While the visitors scored 263 runs in the first innings, India replied with 262 runs.

Restarting with a one-run lead, Australia were once batting on 65/1 or 85/2 in their second innings. However, the home spinners Ravindra Jadeja (7/42) and Ravichandran Ashwin (3/59) just bundled out the Baggy Green batting line-up to only 113 runs.

The chasing was smooth for the hosts, as Cheteshwar Pujara, who was playing his 100th Test match, finished the game with a four.
