There have been a lot of legendary partnerships in the history of the BBL and a few of them have made it to the record books as well. These partnerships have been so great that the opposition team had no answers throughout their long partnership in the middle and both the batters have scored a lot of runs.

There have been great partnerships by all the teams in the BBL as in a particular day two batters just don’t get out at all and just frustrate the opposition. It will be very interesting to see which are the top 5 Highest partnerships in BBL History.


1. Marcus Stoinis and Hilton Cartwright (207 Runs):  


This is the highest partnership in the history of the BBL tournament and it is a score which in itself will be a great overall team score in T20 cricket. This was one of the most destructive opening partnerships in history and especially from Marcus Stoinis who was in a belligerent mood that day and no opposition bowler was safe in his presence as he dispatched everyone and made the highest score by a player in BBL History and his partner scored a brilliant half century as well and it will take one extraordinary partnership to beat this current record. It was a treat for the fans of Melbourne Stars.

 

2. Matthew Wade and D’Arcy Short (203 Runs): 


Both these elegant left handed batters showed in this incredible partnership why they are considered legends of the BBL over the years. This was a true masterclass in batting and how to hit big sixes and still stitch up a huge partnership of over 200 runs. Matthew Wade especially was in a very destructive mood that day as he scored 130 runs in only 61 balls with 7 monster sixes and he was ably supported by D’Arcy Short who made a good 72 runs and both of them put their mahes In the record books with this partnership.

 

3. Rob Quiney and Luke Wright (172 Runs): 


This was a classic batting partnership wherein one was the aggressor whereas the other was the anchor of the innings. Luke Wright started smacking from ball one as he hit a wonderful century with the help of 9 sixes and he took just 60 balls and on the other end Rob Quiney was the anchor and he made a well organized score of 62 runs and their partnership helped the Melbourne Stars post a total of over 200 in their innings.

 

4. Shaun Marsh and Michael Klinger (171* Runs): 


This phenomenal partnership between these two extremely talented batters came when they were chasing a score of 171 to win the match. They opened the innings for the Perth Scorchers and didn’t lose a wicket in the entire innings as both of them pulverized the Melbourne Renegades bowling attack to all parts and both of them finished with 76 not out and 90 not out respectively. This was an example of how to Chase a big total in a 20 overs game.

 

5. Alex Carey and Jake Weatherald (171 Runs): 


Both these opening batters from the Adelaide Strikers were in a mood that day as they were not ready to get out and they started punishing the Hobart Hurricanes bowlers and hit 4 sixes each in their innings and Alex Carey hit a magnificent hundred and Jake Weatherald scored a well made 65 runs for his team and it was one of the great BBL partnerships.
