The man of the match award is the most important award for an individual player when it comes to any match. This means that the player has made the most significant and the best contribution for his country and made it to win the man of the match award.

There are few players who have won numerous man of the match awards in ODI cricket and they have all been legends of the game. Therefore it will be interesting to see who among the many greats of the game has the most man of the match awards in ODI cricket.

1. Sachin Tendulkar (62 MOTM):

He is an all time legend of the game and still cricket fans all over love him and miss him.


3. Virat Kohli (36 MOTM And counting): 

The fact that he has only played for 13 years till now and is on 3rd in this list shows what dominance he has over the 50 overs format. Virat Kohli is the king of ODI cricket at the moment breaking every record that was held by his idol Sachin and his chasing is the best ever. No wonder he has so many man of the match awards in such a short time as he single handedly wins games for India and he is nowhere near finished so all the fans can expect to see more such match winning contributions from Virat.


4. Jacques Kallis (32 MOTM): 

The greatest all rounder to have ever played the game and winning matches for South Africa with bat and ball in equal measure is what makes him an all time great. His records are stupendous both while batting and bowling. The fact that he won 32 man of the match awards shows how many times he has won games for South Africa on his own and the fans greatly miss him. He was one of a kind cricketer.


5. Ricky Ponting (32 MOTM): 

One of the greatest captains in ODI cricket and one of the best batters of the modern game was Ricky Ponting. His batting style was perfect and he played long innings for Australia and won lots of Matches for them. He was an aggressive player and captain and that rubbed off on his team as well. He won a staggering 32 Man of the match awards thus showing the level of consistency he had and fans miss his greatness on the cricket field and his batting even more so.
