1. John Buchanan:


John Buchanan is only one of the best coaches that cricket has ever seen. The mightiest Australian team who won two world cups in a row was trained by John Buchanan. He is a fine cricketer as well. John Buchanan started serving the Australian cricket team in the year 1999. He introduced a number of new players as well as made the Australian team world champions twice. It was also during the coaching stint of Buchanan that Australian team set the record of most consecutive test victories until India defeated them in the Kolkata test in 2001.

 

2. Gary Kirsten:


Undoubtedly, one of the greatest cricketers of all time, Gary Kristen is a very good coach too. After retiring from his playing career, Gary Kirsten opted his path to cricket coaching. In the year 2008 Gary was appointed as the head coach of the Indian cricket team and served the team for a long 4 years. It was under the coaching of Gary Kirsten that Indian team won the one day world cup after 28 years in 2011. Now Gary Kirsten is serving as the had coach of South African cricket team.

 

3. Duncan Fletcher:


Duncan Fletcher is a former Zimbabwe cricketer who is one of the cricket coaches now. He was the captain of the Zimbabwe cricket team which won the ICC trophy in the year 1982.  He started his international coaching career in the year 1999 with the England national team. It was during his coaching period in England that the team won its first ashes series in 18 years. Under Fletcher’s coaching the England team also won the Commonwealth bank series in the year 2007. He was appointed as the coach of Indian national team in the year 2011 and he served the team till 2015. During his time with India, the team won 8 international series and ICC champions trophy in 2013.


4. Andy Flower:


Andy Flower is a former batsman from Zimbabwe who is also considered as one of the best test batsmen in the history. He started his coaching career as the assistant coach of England national team in 2007. In 2009 he was appointed as the head coach and during his tenure, England national team won Ashes series thrice in 2009, 2011 and 2013. Also it was during his period that the England cricket team won the 2010 ICC T20 world cup.

 

5. Darren Lehmann:

Darren Lehmann is one of the most celebrated cricket coaches of Australian cricket team. This former Australian national team member started his career as a cricket coach in the year 2008. He was appointed as an assistant coach at the centre for excellence. From 2009 to 2012, he held the position of the head coach of the IPL franchise, Deccan Chargers. Later in the year 2013, he was appointed as the head coach of Australian national team and remained at the position till 2014. Besides his international coaching career he also served as the coach of IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab in the year 2012 and 2013.
