Before I get to the list I must say that writing about the Asia Cup is a privilege and it’s amazing to write about a tournament which has given us cricket fans lots of unforgettable moments such as the 100th international hundred for Sachin Tendulkar among many others. Lasith Malinga (33 Wickets)

At number 1 on this list is one of the best fast bowlers that Sri Lanka has ever seen and that man is Lasith Malinga and he is at the top with 33 wickets in just 15 Matches of Asia Cup meaning more than 2 wickets per game. His Asia Cup career spanned from 2004-2018 and in these 14 years he played 15 Matches and he has taken 3 Five wicket hauls in Asia Cup history which is incredible with his best figures being 5/34 and je had an average of 18.80 with an economy of 4.70 and a strike rate of 24.0 which are exemplary.


Muttiah Muralitharan (30 Wickets)

At number 2 is perhaps the greatest spin bowler of all time and the highest wicket taker in ODIs and he is Muttiah Muralitharan and he has taken 30 wickets in 24 Asia Cup matches. His Asia Cup career was from 1995-2010 and he has taken 1 Five wicket haul in Asia Cup history. His average was 28.83 along with an economy of 3.75 and a strike rate of 46.0 which is very good so this app time legend is at number 2 on this list. His best figures were 5/31.


Ajantha Mendis (26 Wickets)

At number 3 is the Bowler that when he came on the scene he was the best bowler in the world and no batter was able to play him and he got 26 wickets in Asia Cup in just 8 Matches which is mind boggling. His Asia Cup career was from 2008-2014 and he took 2 Five wicket hauls in Asia Cup history with an average of 10.42 along with an economy of 3.98 and a strike rate of 15.6. The best figures were 6/13.


Saeed Ajmal (25 Wickets)

The fourth bowler on this list is the magician Saeed Ajmal from Pakistan and he is the highest non Sri Lankan wicket taking Bowler in Asia Cup history. Shakib Al Hasan (24 Wickets)

The 5th and final Bowler in this list is the greatest Bangladeshi cricketer who is still going strong and that is Shakib Al Hasan and he is the only one in this list that is still playing cricket at the highest level. He has played 18 Asia Cup Matches till now and he has an average of 30.41 along with an economy rate of 5.05 and a strike rate of 36.0.
