Punjab claimed a big 105-run win against Andhra in a high-scoring domestic T20 match at the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023/24. During the first innings of the match, Punjab smashed the highest SMAT total, which was also the fourth-highest total in T20 cricket history.
After Punjab chose to bat first at Ranchi in the Group C match, opener Abhishek Sharma’s century and Anmolpreet Singh’s furious 80+ knock helped them to score 275/6 in 20 overs. While Abhishek smashed a 42-ball century, Anmolpreet had a 17-ball 50.
Abhishek scored 112 runs in 51 balls with the help of nine fours and nine sixes. Meanwhile, Anmolpreet scored 87 runs in just 26 balls with the help of six fours and nine sixes.
In reply, Andhra scored 170/7 in 20 overs, where Ricky Bhui brought up a one-man show with 104 not out in 52 balls with six fours and nine sixes. However, he hadn’t any support as the team was struggling at 34/6 and 113/7. The second-highest score in that innings was 23 runs by the no.8 batter Tripurana Vijay.
