Scotland announced their 26 men squad for Euro 2020 last month. Coach Steve Clark is bringing an exciting group of players in a first major competition for Scotland since the 1998 World Cup in France. They want to make their comeback to the stage with a bang.

Scotland UEFA Euro 2020 Squad :

Goalkeepers: Craig Gordon (Heart of Midlothian), David Marshall (Derby), Jon McLaughlin (Rangers)

Defenders: Liam Cooper (Leeds), Declan Gallagher (Motherwell), Grant Hanley (Norwich), Jack Hendry (Celtic), Scott McKenna (Nottingham Forest), Stephen O'Donnell (Motherwell), Nathan Patterson (Rangers), Andy Robertson (Liverpool), Greg Taylor (Celtic), Kieran Tierney (Arsenal)

Midfielders: Stuart Armstrong (Southampton), Ryan Christie (Celtic), John Fleck (Sheffield United), Billy Gilmour (Chelsea), John McGinn (Aston Villa), Callum McGregor (Celtic), Scott McTominay (Manchester United), David Turnbull (Celtic)

Forwards: Ché Adams (Southampton), Lyndon Dykes (QPR), James Forrest (Celtic), Ryan Fraser (Newcastle United), Kevin Nisbet (Hibernian)

Key Player: Andy Robertson

Undoubtedly, Liverpool's marvelous left-back Andy Robertson will be pulling the strings for his nation. The man with the captain armband have kept his impressive level in the club level intact even after Liverpool's sour season. Robertson's incredible success showed Scotland's turn of fortunes in producing world-class talents. The 27-year-old phenom will be the ultimate leader to march the young & ambitious lads to a gigantic competition like the Euros. A stage to flourish and impose their brilliance. Robertson's quality on and off the pitch is the talk of the media every time. The number of quality deliveries he brings from the left flank added by his defensive astuteness will bring blood in confidence and belief. If Scotland do wonders this summer it will further decorate Robertson's already impressive career.

Strength & Weakness :

For sure, it's not down to Robertson only to make all the headlines. Somebody needs to be there to meet his crosses. The likes of Che Adams, Lyndon Dykes or the youthful Kevin Nisbet is ready to tuck away those chances. The midfield is filled with potential and can match up with top oppositions as seen in their recent draw against the Netherlands in a friendly.  Manchester United Scott Mctominay is a fascinating asset any team will demand while McGinn adds an attacking nature to his play. The defense has experiences of European level in Andy Robertson and Kieran Tierney, two absolute monsters on the left-hand side. However, the most important thing for Scotland is they have a fairly youthful squad with leaders in the dressing room.

The weakness lies in their strength too provided which way it will tilt. The youth brings a lot of energy, commitment and ambition to the squad but the relative inexperience can prove to be a frustrating factor. Most of them are novices to a stage like this. The pressure is also huge because failure at the national level brings huge criticism and backlashes that could be tough to cope up with being a youngster. Although Scotland's hopes are not that high, the pressure is always there to make the most of their first tournament after such a long time.  However, Optimism lies in the fact that one good tournament will automatically push the nation to feature in more competitions consistently in the future to breathe in the legacy set earlier.
