The national football team of Wales announced their 26 men squad on Monday, 31st May. Robert Page is in charge of the team for Euro 2020

Wales have an equally interesting squad that of 2016 version of the tournament or maybe better in certain aspects.

Goalkeepers: Wayne Hennessey (Crystal Palace), Danny Ward (Leicester City), Adam Davies (Stoke City)

Defenders: Ben Davies (Tottenham), Joe Rodon (Tottenham), Chris Mepham (Bournemouth), Chris Gunter (Charlton Athletic), Rhys Norrington-Davies (Sheffield United), Neco Williams (Liverpool), Connor Roberts (Swansea City), Ben Cabango (Swansea City), Tom Lockyer (Luton Town)

Midfielders: Joe Allen (Stoke City), Joe Morrell (Luton Town), Ethan Ampadu (Chelsea), Matthew Smith (Manchester City), Jonny Williams (Cardiff City), Aaron Ramsey (Juventus), Dylan Levitt (Manchester United), Rubin Colwill (Cardiff City), David Brooks (Bournemouth), Harry Wilson (Liverpool)

Forwards: Kieffer Moore (Cardiff City), Gareth Bale (Real Madrid), Tyler Roberts (Leeds United), Daniel James (Manchester United)

Key Player: Gareth Bale

Wales talisman Gareth Bale is hoping to direct his end-of-season form with Tottenham, on loan from Real, to the international level. Whatever issue surrounds Bale off the pitch, he has made sure it doesn't affect his contribution to the national team. The 31-year-old has made an indication of Euro 2020 being his penultimate international competition and the last championship to feature before retirement from the national camp. So, this is an added motivation for the exquisite left-footer to make a mark this summer. Bale wants to replicate his performance in Euro 2016 in which he led his team to the semifinals in the most unexpected way. His future with his parent club is in the air but he should put that away to carry a nation's hope in this illustrious tournament.

Strength :

Whether it's their excellence in defending or composition of youth and experience, Wales have deservedly booked the ticket for consecutive European Championship appearances. Putting up a strong show at the back allowed them to keep clean sheets in seven of their last eight games including friendlies. Although they haven't scored a lot, their attack is shining with improvising talent. Gareth Bale is there for obvious reasons joined by talents like Daniel James with Kieffer Moore being a productive scorer. Midfield and defense have also got a good mixture of experience and starlet. In all, Wales's composition is their prime strength moving into the Euros.

Weakness :

Wales have failed to turn up against a superior opposition to them in recent memory. For sure, the Dragons have effectively gained points whenever required but failing to overcome a major hurdle is a source of concern. It is reflected by their crushing defeat to England in a friendly and against Belgium in the 2022 World Cup qualifying game in which they gave away a first-half lead to lose 3-1. Even though they have excelled defensively, the same attitude didn't last long in these games. The stars of the Wales national team are often questioned for not giving their best in certain games. Also, without proper manager support, it is left to see their performance on this grand stage.

However, Wales have shown in their memorable campaign in the Euro 2016 that they can do amazing stuff as an underdog. The semifinalist of that edition believes their squad composition with a notable attack can break through any barriers again. The blend of youth and experience is key to any team. Wales can count on it to do something reasonable in this upcoming Euros.
