Chelsea are looking to a new era under Mauricio Pochettino in the 2023/24 Premier League season. The Blues will be desperate to replace their disastrous 2022/23 campaign in which they finished underwhelming 12th position on the table. Also going through three managers in that period. With no continental football to manage, the former Spurs boss’s first job will be to assemble a talented squad to fire them back into Europe.
They will take on Liverpool in their season opener on 13 August 2023 in a challenging fixture. The first away game is at the London Stadium against West Ham. Chelsea will have a grueling period in both October and then November. Three consecutive London derbies against Arsenal, Brentford and Pochettino’s old side Tottenham will be there to play. That game on 4th November will be an emotional reunion for the Argentinian manager because it is an away fixture at the Spurs’ stadium.
However, there will be no easier fixture after that as defending champions Manchester City will visit Stamford Bridge before Newcastle, Brighton and other sides of Manchester follow up. The season-defining schedule comes in the period between mid-February and March with all the reverse fixtures to be played against the same sides. Chelsea have a slightly easier end to the season and hopefully, by then Pochettino will get the club back to its status among the elites.
