Real Madrid have been in the centre of the European Super League storm for the last week but there is some good news for Madridistas. David Alaba whose contract runs out in the summer has reportedly agreed to join Real Madrid.

The 28-year-old has been at Bayern Munich since he was a teenager. The Austrian joined Bayern Munich from Austria Wien. The defender has had a successful spell at the club in which he had not one but two treble-winning seasons. Alaba in recent seasons has been playing in the heart of the defence instead of Left Back which is where Real Madrid would want primarily to play him.

Alaba has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu in the past as competition for Marcelo but that never panned out due to Marcelo's consistent performances. Alaba's arrival at Real Madrid could well be an indicator of the departure of club captain Sergio Ramos whose contract renewal talks have not been going well at the moment.

Bayern teammate Joshua Kimmich spoke about Alaba's transfer "He has won everything here multiple times," Kimmich told Sky Germany. "Twice the triple, once even six titles in one year. Real is in any case a worthy club. There aren't many steps you can take after playing for Bayern but Real Madrid isn't that bad as the next step."

Alaba would be a perfect signing for Real Madrid if Sergio Ramos is to leave the club but if the Spaniard does extend his contract then Alaba might be surplus to needs as left-back Ferland Mendy as well as Center Backs Nacho and Eder Militao have had great seasons with Los Blancos. The deal is expected to be completed in the next few weeks according to reports in Spain.
