James Rodriguez is a Colombian professional footballer who currently plies his trade with Premier League club Everton and the Colombia national team as an attacking midfielder or winger. James his career at Envigado before moving to Argentina's Banfield, James rose to prominence in Europe during his three years at Porto, winning several trophies and individual awards. Footballing career:


James began his professional football career in 2006 with Envigado, a Colombian second division club with whom he was promoted to the Colombian first division in 2007. At the age of 14, he became the second-youngest Colombian player to play in a professional match, starting his first match on May 21, 2006. Banfield, an Argentine team, signed him in 2008. On 7 February 2009, he made his first-team debut, and on 27 February, he scored his first goal for the club, a long-range strike in a 3–1 win. Portuguese giants Porto paid €5.1 million for James, holding 70% of the economic rights. He agreed to a four-year deal with a €30 million buyout option. The Colombian star joined Ligue 1 club AS Monaco for a transfer fee of €45 million on May 25, 2013, making him the second most expensive player in Portuguese football behind former teammate Hulk. Following that, James signed a five-year deal with the club that would hold him at the club until 2018. This was one of the most expensive transfers in club history and the French league’s history and one of the most expensive in world football. James confirmed all the rumours surrounding him on July 22, 2014, when he signed a six-year deal with Real Madrid for an undisclosed fee, which was estimated to be around £63 million. He won two Champions League titles and two La Liga titles at Madrid. But after spending six seasons in Madrid, he wasn’t in their plans, and he joined Everton on a free transfer.
