Juventus and Barcelona got knocked out of the UEFA Champions League Round Of 16. It's for the first time since 2005 that the UCL Quarter Finals will not feature both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. The duo has been the face of football for over 15 years now. But the last few years have been rather difficult for the old horses.
The generation of the Messi-Ronaldo domination seems to be fading away. The new generation of superstars have stepped up. In the conversation of talented young players, it's hard to look past Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland. The two superstars have been taking the world by storm with consistent performances in the league but especially in Europe.
Real Madrid has always been the ultimate destination for Star players. Los Merengues are never afraid to spend the big bucks on players. Both Haaland and Mbappe have been linked to Real Madrid numerous times. Both players have recognized the interest from Los Blancos on various occasions.
Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos in a recent press conference was asked about who he thinks the club should sign to which the Spanish Defender said:
"Haaland or Mbappe? I would like to have both of them, but that might not be easy."
"Perhaps, due to the circumstances and the current situation, today I think it would be a little easier to sign Haaland."
"Mbappe is talked about as the Cristiano [Ronaldo] and [Lionel] Messi replacement, and the circumstances are more complicated."

Real Madrid are very likely to sign one of them in the summer. Signing both would be very tricky but with President Florentino Perez negotiating nothing is impossible.
