Every transfer window there are a number of high-profile players who become free agents. Some of the Premier League's top players are into the final year of their deals, meaning they could leave at the end of the season.

Juventus have a good record of signing some talented free agents in the last few seasons, with Andrea Pirlo, Dani Alves, and Aaron Ramsey all joining for free, proving that there can be great value in the free-agent market.

We have ranked five best players who could be signed for free next summer according to their age, performance and how much they can offer to their next club. We have jumped ahead five months to identify big names in PL who are out of contract in summer 2020.

1. Christian Eriksen

Current club: Tottenham

Age: 27

Eriksen joined Spurs in 2013 and has spent six seasons at the London club. He has gone on to establish himself not only as a key figure in the Tottenham squad but also as one of the best midfielders in the world. The Danish midfielder was the heartbeat of Pochettino's team that reached the Champions League final last season. However, despite his importance at the club, he has refused to sign a contract extension. He reportedly rejected Tottenham's €9 mn-per-year offer. Inter Milan, Real Madrid & PSG are reportedly monitoring his contract situation. It'll be interesting to see what the future holds for him.

2. Toby Alderweireld

Current club: Tottenham

Age: 30

Alderweireld joined Tottenham from Atletico Madrid in July 2015. He will be a free agent at the end of the season but has featured in all four games under Jose Mourinho. Earlier there were reports that Alderweireld was ready to see out the final few months of his contract & leave Spurs for free. But after Jose Mourinho's arrival, he could consider staying. Mourinho has been an admirer of Alderweireld and wanted him at Manchester United. Reports suggest that no formal talks have been held between the club and the player. Tottenham need to act fast as Alderweireld may start talking with other clubs in January to sign a pre-contract agreement.

3. Willian

Current club: Chelsea

Age: 31

Willian joined Chelsea in 2013 from Anzhi. He has been a regular at Chelsea under different managers throughout these years. Chelsea hired Frank Lampard as their manager this season. Despite his preference for youth, Willian has managed to feature 14 times in the Premier League. He is in the final year of his contract and it looks like he'll leave for nothing at the end of the campaign. He has been linked with Barcelona and Juventus last season and they'll be able to sign him for free next summer.

4. Ryan Fraser

Current club: Bournemouth

Age: 25

The 25-year-old Scottish winger joined Bournemouth in January 2013 from Aberdeen. Ryan Fraser is a free agent at the end of the season and hasn't signed a contract extension with the Cherries. He was excellent for Bournemouth last season as he scored 7 goals and provided 14 assists in the league. Bournemouth tried to convince him to stay but Ryan is keeping his options open. He has been linked with a move to Anfield. Liverpool need quality bench players and Fraser could be a decent option coming off the bench.

5. Eric Bailly

Current club: Manchester United

Age: 25

Bailly joined United in 2016 from Villarreal. He was Mourinho's first signing as United's manager. He made 25 league appearances in his first season. He had to undergo knee surgery following his injury against Tottenham in the International Champions Cup in July this season. He has returned to light training and could soon feature for the reserves - although a first-team appearance isn't likely until late December. Even though he's 25 years old, he could leave for free next season. Many clubs would pitch in to sign him given his young age.
