1. Chris Gayle (Royal Challengers Bangalore): 175* (vs Pune Warriors India, 2013)

Former Caribbean legend Chris Gayle is one of the finest and most feared batters in world cricket. He was arguably the greatest match-winner in T20 cricket. He produced many breathtaking innings over the years, while the left-handed batter was always ready to smash the balls over the boundary.

Gayle produced one of the finest innings in T20 cricket against the Pune Warriors India in the 2013 edition of IPL. Serving for Royal Challengers Bangalore, he single-handedly tormented the bowling attack of Pune Warriors India in Bengaluru. The left-handed opening batter slammed a century in 30 balls and scored 175 off 66 balls with the help of 17 fours and 13 sixes. It still holds the record for the highest score in T20 cricket history while RCB scored 263/5 in 20 overs, and they later won by 130 runs.

2. Brendon McCullum (Kolkata Knight Riders): 158* (vs Royal Challengers Bangalore, 2008)

Former New Zealand cricketer Brendon McCullum produced many enthralling innings with the bat. He set the stage on fire in the very first match of the Indian Premier League history. The Kolkata Knight Riders opener hit the first-ever IPL century in 53 balls, and the right-handed batter scored 158 not out off 73 balls with the help of 10 fours and 13 sixes. While KKR scored 222/3, RCB were bundled out for 82 runs, and KKR won by 140 runs.

3. KL Rahul (Delhi Capitals): 152* (vs Punjab Kings, 2026)

Delhi Capitals hosted this fixture against unbeaten Punjab Kings in the IPL 2026. While the DC opener KL Rahul was dropped in the third over of the first innings, it hugely cost Punjab Kings. While Rahul's present T20 batting strike rate is not so impressive, especially given the present Indian cricket standard, the right-handed opening batter stunned everyone by playing a furious knock. After completing 50 runs in 26 balls, Rahul recorded his fastest IPL century by reaching it in 47 balls. He stretched his sixth IPL century till the end of the innings by scoring 152 not out off 67 balls with 16 fours and nine sixes, as DC scored their highest total ever, 264/2. However, PBKS produced a brilliant batting performance to chase the target and set a new IPL record.

4. Abhishek Sharma (SunRisers Hyderabad): 141 (vs Punjab Kings, 2025)

Chasing down the 246-run target, SunRisers Hyderabad got a stormy start with a 171-run partnership for the first wicket in just 12.2 overs between Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. While Head was out for 66 off 37 balls, Abhishek dominated by scoring a 40-ball hundred. The left-handed Indian batter continued his onslaught and scored 141 off 55 balls with 14 fours and 10 sixes before losing his wicket in the 17th over, while he also added another 51-run partnership for the second wicket with Heinrich Klaasen. SRH ultimately chased down the target in 18.3 overs after losing only two wickets.

5. Quinton de Kock (Lucknow Super Giants): 140* (vs Kolkata Knight Riders, 2022)

Former South African cricketer Quinton de Kock produced many great batting knocks with his powerful batting quality. During the IPL 2022, when the tournament debutant Lucknow Super Giants faced Kolkata Knight Riders, LSG openers Quinton de Kock and the skipper KL Rahul had a 210-run partnership for the unbroken first wicket, where De Kock scored 140 not out off 70 balls, thanks to 10 fours and 10 sixes. LSG ultimately won by two runs.
