The T20 league IPL is usually known as the batting paradise tournament. But there are also instances in the IPL history that can be shown as the prime example of bowling excellence. There are many instances where the teams were limited to lowest team scores, and the bowlers showed their excellent bowling skills. Even though T20 matches are popular for amazing batting speed and huge shots, it is a very beautiful sight when bowlers create magic using their top skills.

Here are the top 5 lowest team totals in the history of IPL so far:

1. Royal Challengers Bangalore 49 (vs Kolkata Knight Riders at Kolkata on 23 April 2017)

The lowest team total ever scored in the history of IPL is in the name of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). This team was bowled for a total of 49 runs when they chased the 132 runs target created by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). History noted that innings as the lowest ever team total in the history of IPL. No player from the Bangalore team scored double-digit runs. Colin de Grandhomme, Nathan Coulter-Nile, and Chris Woakes all got three wickets apiece giving KKR a massive win by 82 runs.

2. Rajasthan Royals 58 (vs Royal Challengers Bangalore at Cape Town on 18 April 2009)

In the second season of IPL, which took place in South Africa, the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) holds the record for the second-lowest total in the history of IPL. During their 134 runs chase, Rajasthan Royals were bowled for a total of 58 runs. RCB captain Anil Kumble picked up five wickets for five runs in the game marking that as one of the greatest bowling performances in the history of IPL.

3. Rajasthan Royals 59 (vs Royal Challengers Bangalore at Cape Town on 18 April 2009)

In the IPL 2023, Rajasthan Royals (RR) once again triggered their poor 2009 Cape Town memory against the same team, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), at Jaipur. After RCB scored 171/5, thanks to the fifties of the skipper and opener Faf du Plessis (55) and Glenn Maxwell (54), RCB bowlers completely thrashed the home batters. South African pacer Wayne Parnell (3/10) led the RCB bowling attack as Rajasthan Royals were bundled out for only 59 runs in 10.3 overs. Only Shimron Hetmyer (35) and Joe Root (10) scored more than four runs in that horrible chasing.

4. Delhi Daredevils 66 (vs Mumbai Indians at Delhi on 6 May 2017)

Delhi Daredevils (DD) were totally bamboozled by Mumbai Indians (MI), where the team got out for only 66 runs. It was the amazing bowling performance from the MI spinners, Harbhajan Singh and Karn Sharma, who destroyed the Delhi batting line up. With the batting performances of Kieron Pollard and Lendl Simmons, MI scored a total of 212 runs, and in reply, DD were all out for 66 runs. Both Harbhajan Singh and Karan Sharma took three wickets each in the match.

5. Delhi Daredevils 67 (vs Kings XI Punjab at Mohali on 30 April 2017)

Delhi Daredevils (DD) once again tops the list of top lowest totals in the IPL history with their 67 all out against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the IPL 2017. Corey Anderson, Kagiso Rabada and captain Karun Nair were the only DD batters to manage double digit scores in that innings. The team was bowled to that low score in just 17.1 overs, and that was considered as one of the most shameful batting performances in the IPL history.

6. Kolkata Knight Riders 67 (vs Mumbai Indians at Wankhede on 16 May 2008)

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) tasted the most humiliating loss in their IPL history during the 2008 Wankhede fixture against Mumbai Indians (MI), where the visiting team was bowled out for a total of 67 runs. It was the neat and amazing spells from Mumbai bowlers which gave them an unforgettable victory. MI bowlers took wickets of KKR players at regular intervals. Before the end of 16th over, KKR batting ended that innings. Shaun Pollock was named as the Player of the Match for his amazing bowling performance (3/12).
