English star Jos Buttler created a new history in the ongoing IPL 2023, but he surely doesn’t want to remember it in his lifetime. The Rajasthan Royals’ star, who won the IPL 2022 Orange Cap, has now recorded the most ducks in the history of an IPL season.
It was the 66th match of the IPL 2023, where Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) met at Dharamsala. While PBKS managed to score 187/5 in 20 overs despite a struggling start, RR chased the target in 19.4 overs after losing six wickets, majorly thanks to the batters Yashasvi Jaiswal (50), Devdutt Padikkal (51) and Shimron Hetmyer (46).

However, at the beginning of that chasing, Rajasthan Royals had a big blow as Jos Buttler scored a four-ball duck after Kagiso Rabada trapped him for an lbw. It was Buttler’s third consecutive duck and fifth overall duck in the ongoing IPL season.
With the latest duck, Buttler created history in the IPL as the right-handed batter became the first cricketer to manage more than four ducks in an IPL season.

Equals the record of most ducks by a player in a men’s T20 tournament
Meanwhile, with his latest duck for Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing IPL 2023, Jos Buttler also equalled the record for most ducks by a player in a men’s T20 tournament. The right-handed English batter became the fourth to manage five ducks in a men’s T20 competition.
