Bajrang Punia Profile Career and Achievements

In the list of the profile articles of our Commonwealth Games Athletes today we will talk about one of the most decorated wrestlers of India and someone who has a real shot at a Gold Medal this time. Bajrang Punia is a name that I think genuine sports fans will know about and all that he has achieved. Just last year with a broken leg he won the Bronze Medal for India and it was a great moment to see. Bajrang Punia is a star and he would look to better his performance from last year and win another medal for India.

He has been competing since 2012 and in 2013 he started winning Medals for India and he Wrestles in the 65 Kg category and he is a very aggressive wrestler who likes getting points from his opponents and finish the match as quickly as possible and he would be looking to do the same at these Commonwealth Games where the competition will be Fierce. So, let’s look at his Profile Career and Achievements.

Profile

Personal Information

Bajrang Punia was born on 26th February 1994 in Jhajjar in Haryana and since the young days he wanted to become a wrestler as Haryana is known for its incredible line of great wrestlers and Bajrang was fascinated and the talent in him was seen at a very early age and he was trained at the national academy. He is 5 ft 5 Inches which allows him to get under his opponents and get quick Points without them knowing about it. He has a spouse in Sangeeta Phogat who is also a wrestler herself and a very decorated one at that.

Career

As we said before Bajrang Punia started his wrestling career in 2012 after watching Sushil Kumar win 2 medals at the Olympics and he wanted to do the same and since 2013 he won the World Championship Bronze Medal and from there it was only up and he has won a medal in all the major competitions and he is just 28 years old so he still has another good 5-6 years left in him and he could belong an all time legend. Now we will talk about his incredible list of achievements.
