The schedule of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 was recently announced in a grand event across the 7 host cities of Australia which would be hosting the event. The fans of all the countries were eagerly awaiting the announcement to see which teams they will play and what ground they will play their matches in.
There are a total of 12 teams in the tournament with 8 automatic qualifiers and the other 4 will come from a qualifying tournament which will be played the week before the main tournament begins. Let’s take a look at the entire schedule and discuss the main highlights
The Qualifiers
The Qualifiers that will take place the week before the tournament will be played between the teams that could not automatically qualify. It is surprising to see teams like Sri Lanka and West Indies in this stage of the world cup. The first qualifying match is between Sri Lanka and Namibia and West Indies vs Scotland is also one of the important qualifying matches in this stage of the tournament. There will be a total of 8 teams playing this stage and 4 from here will go to the main tournament.
These were the fixtures of the major 6 teams in the group stage of the tournament and the hope is that 4 out of these 6 teams will make it to semi finals. A lot of exciting matches for the fans of all the teams involved.
The knockouts
After the group stages of the tournament is completed on the 6th of November, then will come the meaty stage of the competition, the Knockouts. All the teams that will be competing in this tournament will be looking to get into this stage and have a chance to win it all.
