In the Final of the ICC World Test Championship 2021-2023, Ravindra Jadeja created history by becoming the leading Test wicket-taker by an Indian left-arm spinner.

The 34-year-old Ravindra Jadeja took four wickets in the historic ICC WTC Final 2021-2023 against Australia. While the left-arm spinner got only one wicket in the first innings of the game (18-2-56-1) by dismissing Alex Carey, he took three more wickets in the next Australian innings (23-4-58-3).

In the Australian second innings, Jadeja picked up the wickets of Steven Smith, Travis Head and Cameron Green.

During the dismissal of Travis Head in the third innings of the Test match, Jadeja claimed his 267th Test wicket. With that wicket, Jadeja became the new leading Test wicket-taker by an Indian left-arm spinner.


Ravindra Jadeja broke Bishan Singh Bedi’s record

In the list of leading Test wicket-taker by an Indian left-arm spinner, Jadeja surpassed Bishan Singh Bedi to grab the top spot. The previous record holder Bedi claimed 266 wickets in his Test career.

Coming back to the WTC 2021-2023 Final, the left-arm spinner Jadeja ended his bowling in the match with 268 Test wickets.
