Jamaican Tajay Gayle claimed the 2026 Diamond League title in a stunning way, as his last jump produced his victory with his season-best performance.
Gayle had all six successful jumps in the final event on Friday night, as he recorded four 8m+ jumps. Miltiadis Tentoglou from Greece was leading the battle from the third attempt as he was leading with the 8.31m jump and later the 8.40m jump (4th attempt). Gayle was standing in second place with his second attempt jump, 8.21m, but his last jump managed 8.46m distance to snatch the 2026 Diamond League title.
Simon Ehammer from Switzerland also claimed third place on his final attempt with the 8.23m jump, as he put Bulgarian Bozhidar Sarâboyukov behind, who finished with his best jump of 8.00m.

Who is Tajay Gayle?
Jamaican Tajay Gayle has claimed his second Diamond League title, winning his first one in 2024. While he won the World Athletics Championships 2019, he recently claimed a men’s long jump gold medal at the Commonwealth Games 2026.
