On Monday (21 August), during the final of the men’s 110m hurdles in the World Athletics Championships 2023, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic silver medallist Holloway completed the race in 12.96 seconds. It was his fastest performance this season.

In both the previous two editions of the World Athletics Championships (2019 and 2022), the American athlete won the gold medals in the men’s 110m hurdles events.

While the American Allen Johnson has the record of four Championship gold medals in the men’s 110m hurdles event (1995, 1997, 2001 and 2003), Holloway became the second athlete to win three successive Championship gold medals in this event after the American athlete Greg Foster (1983, 1987 and 1991).
