PV Sindhu Profile Career and Achievements

Now we will be starting an individual athlete’s profile who is participating in the Commonwealth Games this year and who better to start with than with the Queen of Indian sports in PV Sindhu. PV Sindhu is a legend at just the age of 27 and she has earned the trust of the people of India the whenever she goes out to play she will win a medal for India and that she will leave it all out there. PV Sindhu is one of my most favorite athletes to watch because the way she dominates world class opponents and her passion in the court are great to see.

PV Sindhu has her peak yet to come and still she had achieved almost everything there is to achieve in the sport of badminton. She is the first woman and only the second ever Indian athletes to win 2 Olympic Medals which is a mind boggling achievement. So, let’s look at her profile career and achievements which there are many.

Personal Information

The full name of PV Sindhu is Pursala Venkata Sindhu and she was born to parents who were sportspersons themselves. She was born on 5th July 1996 in Hyderabad in Telangana. Since she was a young girl she was into badminton as her meteoric rise Stunned everybody and she just kept going from strength to strength. She is 5ft 10 Inches tall which gives her a distinct advantage over the other shorter height players as she is able to attack the body of her opponents. She has been playing from 2011 and still going amazing.


Career


PV Sindhu started playing in the year 2011 and since that time she has been winning Medals left right and center. She was a child prodigy and in the 2011 Asian Junior Championships she won 2 Bronze Medals in the Girls Singles and the Mixed Team and from there it was no stopping her . We will talk about her achievements below and get history at the Commonwealth Games as well. She went to the 2016 Rio Olympics as an underdog and when she won the silver medal there she became a star but a tag of Silver Sindhu was attached to her and in the 2019 World Championships she won the Gold Medal which meant a lot to her. Let’s look at the list of her achievements now. Her career record is 395 wins and 167 losses till now and she is number 7 in the world now.
