On her 29th birthday, the Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain brought India’s first gold medal in the boxing event at the Asian Games 2026. In the Final on Friday (2 October), she faced the Chinese boxer Bao Ziyi where the Indian boxer won by 5-0.
In the Final, Lovlina was powerful against the Chinese opponent in the women’s 75kg boxing event. Despite the Chinese boxer having a few upperhand from the judges' scores, the entire overall scores from the judges only supported the birthday boxer.
