There was no medal for India on the third day (25th July) of the Commonwealth Games 2026. However, there were a few shining moments for the nation, as a few athletes progressed with their impressive performances.

Artistic Gymnastics

Women’s team event final: After completing four rotations, India women’s team scored 123.000 points, as the country finished in the fifth position in subdivision 3, failing to win any medal.


Women’s vault: Protistha Samanta was the standout performer for India, as she qualified for the women’s vault final after managing a score of 13.025.


Lawn Bowls

Women’s pairs sectional play: In the section B round 3, Indians Rupa Rani Tirkey (lead) and Pinki Singh (skip) claimed their third straight victory after securing another tie-break win against Tonga (Milika Nathan & Paris Baker).


Men’s singles sectional play: In the section D round 3 battle, Indian Putul Sonowal suffered his first defeat, as Izzat Dzulkeple from Malaysia won by 0-2 (4-8; 8-9). 


Boxing

Men’s 60kg Round of 32: Indian Sachin Siwach started his journey with a 4-1 win against Canadian Keoma Al-Ahmadieh and qualified for the Round of 16. 


3x3 Wheelchair Basketball

Women’s wheelchair: The Indian women’s team started their Group B journey with a 16-1 defeat against Wales. 


Swimming

Men’s 400m freestyle: In the heat, Dhakshan Shashikumar (3:58.09) and Aryan Nehra (4:00.26) finished in the 15th and 16th places, respectively, as both failed to qualify for the Final.
