Fantasy Cricket is one of the most popular fantasy games in India today. It has grown a few multi-folds in the last couple of years. It's the closest you can get to the real game. Here, users create a virtual team of real players and with the right skills and strategy win some real cash rewards. Every significant action on the cricketing pitch has a point, be it a catch, a run, a wicket, or a stumping. And if you want to pick the best team from all the available alternatives, check out these latest tips and tricks before moving ahead:

Analyse player's performance:

One of the most common errors which users make is to pick their team based on the reputation and, not their current form. For example, Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh were great in 2012 and 2013 but they are just not good enough today. And most importantly, they are not in the lineup more often than not. Rather go for players who have a certain chance of playing and keep their current forms in mind when making the choice.

Understand pitch performance:

Every pitch is different and you should modify your strategy accordingly. A flat pitch is a dreamland for batsmen and you should include the minimum number of bowlers possible in your gameplay strategy. Eden Gardens is much of a fast-paced pitch than a slow track (as was considered earlier). Analyse the last match on that pitch and make a calculated move based on your observations.

Make sure each and every player plays:

This is one of the basic things that everyone should follow but yet most of us ignore this aspect. We are too lazy to keep a track of final lineups for both the sides. It is the worst thing in the world when the set of players in your team are not even playing. Avoid players who have been benched throughout the season. If you have any doubt over the player's selection in the lineup, avoid picking him initially. But return back just when the final lineups are announced and do the necessary modifications.

Choosing Captain and Vice-Captain:

Perhaps the most important task is choosing the right men for the two roles. The Captain will earn 2X points whereas the Vice Captain will earn 1.5X points. Utilize these two roles in the most efficient way possible. Someone like Hardik Pandya will fit in perfectly for the captain's role. Even if he had a quiet day with the bat, he will still have some overs to bowl in the match. Going for an all-rounder captain is a safer alternative for a long way.

Make a precise investment:

Some players are rated on the higher side and yet fail to perform up to the standards of their price tag. Players like Robin Uthappa have their prime years well behind them. But still, are one of the first names in the lineup. Focus on young and talented players for your lineup and create a balance within the team.

Select top order batsmen:

Players like Mahendra Singh Dhoni are big hitters of the cricket ball and we all know what he is capable of. But he always comes at #5, #6 or #7. It just reduces his opportunity to bat as compared to the top four. He will be effective on the ground but will fail to break the point charts most often than not. Will you pick a batsman who will at most get 20 balls to play in the whole game? Probably not. So go for the top four instead.

Bonus points:

There is certainly some extra points for catches, stumpings and even run outs. This is where players like Ravindra Jadeja will come in handy for your team. So it's important to track players who regularly take catches and do fantastically well as fielders. Don't you want those bonus points?

Strike Bowlers:

Not just batting but pick your bowlers wisely. This can prove to be the difference that separates you from the rest. Bowlers with a good economy rate will look great to one's eye but will not do any major well as far as your team is concerned. Select wicket taking bowlers even though they leak extra runs. Bowlers like Amit Mishra and Yuzvendra Chahal will always give a six once in a while but their wicket-taking appetite is high.

Picking uncapped players:

Uncapped players are the ones that are yet to play at least one international match for their country. Making a calculated move for an uncapped player could prove to be the biggest difference among others. A bowler who bowls in the middle overs is just perfect for the job. Or some wicket-keeper batsman like Ishan Kishan.
