Arshdeep Singh Becomes First Indian to Take 150 T20I Wickets

During the fourth T20I between the hosts New Zealand and the visitors India at Auckland on Friday (30 October), Indian left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh created history by becoming the first Indian bowler to complete 150 T20I wickets.

Before the Auckland T20I, Arshdeep Singh was just one wicket away from 150 T20I wickets, as the leading T20I wicket-taker for India was hoping to end this historic wait soon. In the 19th over, Arshdeep dismissed the home skipper Mitchell Santner for five runs to complete his 150 T20I wickets and became the first Indian bowler to reach this milestone.

However, India, who have already secured the match by winning the first three fixtures of the series, suffered their first defeat of the tour. With the help of Glenn Phillips 107 off 49 balls (six fours and 10 sixes) and Michael Bracewell’s 65 off 25 balls (four fours and six sixes), New Zealand slammed 259/7 in 20 overs.
