New Zealand conceded a first innings lead of 135 runs to Sri Lanka and all looked lost but then came the maestro and he slowly started building the innings and he batted almost 10 hours and made an incredible 242 runs which not only helped New Zealand recover very well but they also beat Sri Lanka in that test match by 193 runs and that innings cemented the stature of Kane Williamson as an all time great of New Zealand cricket.
131 against India in Ahmedabad (2010)
It was the debut test match in the career of Kane Williamson and it was happening against a dominant India team playing at home in Ahmedabad, the pressure on the young man was immense and yet he delivered big time at such a big stage. He showed the world in that innings that he belonged at the international level and even the Indians were impressed with what they saw. This calm young lad from New Zealand was about to become the global superstar of world cricket for a long time to come and this was the start of that journey.

Probably the best test match innings played by Kane Williamson in his career came against a good West Indies attack in Hamilton. More than the number of runs he scored, it was the time he spent on the crease and frustrated the West Indies so much. For six hundred and twenty four minutes that means 10 hours and 24 minutes he batted which is Like almost 2 days and remaining so calm and fit throughout is staggering. A proper example of excellent test match batting he showed in this innings and it also became his highest score in test cricket.

To perform like this in a final of the T20 world cup and to show the world that Kane Williamson is not just a test match batter and to dominate the great Aussie attack was a thing of beauty to watch. Even though his team didn’t win the match, it does not reduce the fact that this was one of the greatest T20 innings considering the occasion, the pressure and the situation his team was in during that match. He smashed 85 runs off just 48 balls and he was particularly ruthless against Mitchell Starc and in total he hit ten fours and Three sixes and gained the respect of the cricketing world yet again.

It is undoubtedly his best ODI innings and one of oye favorite innings of Kane Williamson as he played this exceptional innings in the 2019 world cup against a good West Indies attack and when his team was in a spot of bother in that match, Kane Williamson has a knack of scoring the most runs when his team is in a bad situation and he bails them out. He showed all his class and skills as he hit 14 boundaries and helped New Zealand win that match by 5 runs and that innings is a special one for all his fans as well.
