Harmanpreet Kaur’s Record Century Powers India Women to WODI Series Win vs England

Harmanpreet Kaur smashed a record-breaking century as India Women clinched the WODI series 2-1 against England. Kranti Goud’s stunning 6-wicket haul sealed the thrilling 13-run win in the series decider at Chester-le-Street.

India Women won the three-match WODI series by 2-1 after winning the last game of the series by 13 runs. It was a high-scoring encounter, where the visitors held nerve at the end of the match. 


After India Women chose to bat first in the series decider at Chester-le-Street, the visitors scored 318/5 in 50 overs. In reply, England Women were all out for 305 runs in 49.5 overs. 


During the first innings, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored a powerful century, as the right-handed batter scored 102 runs in 84 balls with the help of 14 fours. Also, Smriti Mandhana (45), Harleen Deol (45), Jemimah Rodrigues (50), and Richa Ghosh (38*) had strong hands to set a strong first innings total. 


At the chase, English captain Nat Sciver-Brunt (98) and Emma Lamb (68) produced hard battles, while Sophia Dunkley (34) and Alice Davidson-Richards (44) also provided support, but that wasn’t just enough for them. The 21-year-old Indian right-arm medium pacer Kranti Goud created history with her match-winning bowling figures of 9.5-1-52-6.

Harmanpreet Kaur completed her century in 82 balls.

  • It was the second fastest WODI century by an Indian batter. The record is a 70-ball hundred Smriti Mandhana against Ireland Women during 2025 Rajkot WODI. 


Joint 2nd most WODI centuries by Indian 

Harmanpreet Kaur recorded her seventh WODI century.

  • Joint second-most WODI century by an Indian cricketer, equal with former cricketer Mithali Raj (seven centuries). Smriti Mandhana is leading this list with 11 WODI hundreds. 


Record WODI centuries against England and in England 

Harmanpreet Kaur recorded her third WODI century in England. It was also her third WODI century against England Women.

  • Kaur records the most WODI centuries record by a non-English batter in England. The previous record holders were Meg Lanning (Australia Women) and Mithali Raj (India Women) with two WODI hundreds each. 

  • Once again, Kaur became the first to record three WODI centuries against England Women. 


Record-breaking captain against England Women 

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored her second WODI century against England Women.

  • Kaur became the first captain to record more than one WODI hundred against England Women. 


3rd Indian to score 4000 ODI runs 

Harmanpreet Kaur completed her 4000 WODI runs.

  • Kaur became the third India Women cricketer to score 4000 WODI runs, as her WODI career runs are 4069. The first two names in this list are Mithali Raj (7805 runs) and Smriti Mandhana (4588 runs).
