England U19 Qualify for ICC U19 World Cup 2026 Semi-Finals

In the key Super 6 Group 2 fixture of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2026, England U19 beat New Zealand U19 by 65 runs, as England U19 qualified for the Semi-finals of the tournament. 


After New Zealand U19 chose to field first at Bulawayo, England U19 scored 234/7 in 50 overs, while New Zealand U19 were bowled out for 169 runs in 38.5 overs. With eight points, England U19 have secured the top two places in the Group 2 points table in the Super 6 of the tournament, as they have qualified for the Semi-finals. 


Now, India U19 and Pakistan U19 are battling for the only remaining Semi-finals spot from Group 2 of Super 6 of the tournament. While India U19 can still earn the top spot of the Group 2 points table by beating Pakistan U19 in their last Super 6 fixture, Pakistan U19 can only earn the second spot of the Group 2 by claiming a very big win against India U19. 


English openers Ben Dawkins and Joseph Moores had a 48-run partnership for the opening wicket. While Moores was dismissed for 20 runs, Ben Dawkins scored 42 runs, while Ben Mayes scored 53 runs. Also, the middle-order batter Caleb Falconer scored 47 runs, while Farhan Ahmed had a strong cameo of 29 not out off 23 balls with three fours and one six. 


Among the New Zealand bowlers, Mason Clarke (2/38) and Snehith Reddy (2/28) picked up two wickets each. 


In reply, New Zealand U19 lost their wickets at regular intervals, as only two batters managed to reach the 20-run mark. While Snehith Reddy scored 47 runs, Jaskaran Sandhu scored 26 runs. 


The 17-year-old Manny Lumsden claimed a five-wicket haul, as he had the bowling figures of 6.5-0-17-5. Also, Sebastian Morgan (6-0-38-2) got two wickets in the match. 


With 13 wickets, Manny has moved to the top of the leading wicket-takers in the ongoing ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2026.
