Another T20 cricket tournament is going to start in no time where every team of the world will compete against each other first to make it to the last four and then to the final. But have you ever noticed how much this T20 cricket has changed the game and spoiled it like no other?

Cricket is a sport which has seen many ups and downs in its long history which hardly would have happened in any other sport. Still cricket may not be as popular as America’s rugby or baseball game but in some countries it is recognized above all sports. The sport is rated above religion in the countries of the subcontinent.

Started by England, this game is played by almost every country in the world, except a few. The first Test match was played between England and Australia in 1877, shortly after which the Ashes started in 1882, which Australia won for the first time. After which England promoted cricket a lot in different countries of the world, whether it was a subcontinent or a Caribbean country, cricket grew like a wind.

The first captain of India was  C. K. Nayudu who led India for the first time in Test cricket will probably prove to be a milestone for generations to come. Many veteran players like Erapalli Prasanna, BS Chandrasekhar, Sunil Gavaskar, Gundappa Viswanath, Nathan Astle, Kapil Dev and many more have adopted this game and taken it to a different level with their majestic cricket playing abilities. For a long time only Test cricket was played and till about 70s the teams played Test cricket only. The year was 1975 when the World Cricket Board organized the first 50 over World Cup which the West Indies won. The popularity of cricket changed completely after this and more countries in the world started trying to be a part of it. Everything was going fine but people's job is to talk and you can't shut everyone's mouth in the same way some people started playing with this game.

The controversy surrounding South Africa’s Hansie Cronje in the 2000s and later the introduction of T20 cricket by England, which was only for entertainment, changed the face of cricket after that by all margins. Where India’s defeat in the league round from the 2007 World Cup was almost the end of their golden era, after which cricket was considered only a means of entertainment in India without any doubt till date.

The Cricket Board then organized the IPL in 2008, which completely dropped the standard of cricket in more than a decade of cricket where there is no coordination between the bat and the ball now. One is the 70’s when the batsman was afraid of the bowler and on the other side there is an era where the bowler has nothing to do except beating. Well do you think there is actual cricket behind such leagues or format like T-20 Cricket. At the day end there is a franchise who runs his teams and look to generate revenue by all means except playing cricket on the ground. In today’s times every nation has its own T-20 league to financially strong their infrastructure and domestic cricket. But if we look at the other side there are domestic cricket also which has been better way to promote cricket from such money oriented leagues in the world. Moreover in recent times we have witnessed when test cricket has been buried again and again just for the sake of IPL like tournament – but for how long will it work?

In tournament like T-20 Cricket there is hardly a Cricket to be happen it’s a source of entertainment to just entertain crowd and snatch their hard earned money through various means.
