India's Tour of South Africa, Will the World No. 1 be able to make it this time | Sports Social Blog

It is the start of the new year and India is touring South Africa for a long series of 3 test matches, 6 one-day internationals and 3 T-20s. They may be called ‘chokers’ but when it comes to playing in their nation, they definitely prove their worth.

The Indian team looks strong under the leadership of Virat Kohli but their records in South Africa have not been so strong. India has never won a test series in South Africa and they would be definitely looking to root this one into their favour with such a strong side. However , the Proteas are no less with an equally good batting attack and a deadly bowling attack comprising of Morkel, Steyn, Philander, Rabada.

The first test is over and South Africa is up by one game. After the first test itself, there have been various hot topics of discussion like India’s batting performance, Kohli’s team selection, etc. However, there is some relief for India with Steyn being ruled out of the remaining series due to injury.

The first point of discussion here is the current form of Indian batsmen. Their form in the overseas condition has always been a hot matter of discussion. India has played the last year in subcontinent conditions in excellent form and they need to carry it here to prove their worth and to boost themselves for the upcoming year comprising of various tours.

The second debate of the current moment is the team selection by Virat Kohli. He has chosen Rohit Sharma over Ajinkya Rahane who is an excellent test batsman even in overseas condition. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was also dropped from the second test despite being the best player for the Indian side in the first test.

Well, let’s hope for the best and stay updated for more analysis on the upcoming ODI and T20 series. Also listing out my ideal playing XI for the upcoming test:

INDIA (playing XI) :- Murali Vijay, Shikhar Dhawan, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Wridhimann Saha, Hardik Pandya, Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah.
