After thrashing Pakistan Women, India Women set their new T20 World Cup total record on Wednesday (17 June) during their second Group 1 match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 against the Netherlands Women.
Both teams faced each other at Leeds, where the Netherlands Women chose to field first. While India Women scored their record T20 World Cup total of 209/5 in 20 overs, the Netherlands Women were bundled out for only 114 runs (17.3 overs), as India Women won by 95 runs, their largest Women’s T20 World Cup win by runs.
Openers Smriti Mandhana (74 off 47 balls with 11 fours and one four) and Shafali Verma (55 off 38 balls with 10 fours) both scored half-centuries, as they had a 115-run first-wicket partnership that led the team to manage a huge total.
In reply, only the top four batters reached double-digit scores, including Heather Siegers (21) and captain Babette de Leede (28) managing 20+ scores. Among the Indian bowlers, Shree Charani got four wickets (4-0-19-4) and Shafali Verma picked up three wickets (3.2-0-20-3).

It was the third-highest total in the history of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. The top two records in this list are 219/1 and 213/5 both by England Women (vs Sri Lanka Women in 2026 and vs Pakistan Women in 2023).
It was the fourth-highest Women’s T20I total for India Women.
Smriti Mandhana: Most 50+ by an Indian in ICC Women's T20 World Cup
Smriti Mandhana recorded his sixth half-century in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
It is the new record of the most 50+ scores by an Indian Women batter in the competition's history. Former star Mithali Raj and present captain Harmanpreet Kaur are in the next position with five 50+ scores each in the tournament.
Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana: 2nd highest opening partnership by India Women in ICC Women's T20 World Cup
Indian openers Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana set up a 115-run partnership for the first wicket.
It was the third-highest partnership for any wicket for India Women in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup history. Their top two records are 134 by Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur (4th wicket against New Zealand Women in 2018) and 117 by Punam Raut and Mithali Raj (1st wicket against West Indies Women in 2014).
