Indian right-arm fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah finally made his comeback in ODI cricket after more than two-and-a-half years and created history by achieving a special milestone. During the Edgbaston ODI, which was the first game of the three-match ODI series against the hosts England, Jasprit Bumrah had an important role, completing his 150th ODI wicket.
After England chose to bat first, although they had a steady start, with 61/0, Jasprit Bumrah was exceptional with his tight bowling. It was his first ODI match since the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 Final, which was played at Ahmedabad on 19 November 2023. While England were suddenly struggling at 107/6, before recovering to 258 all out, Jasprit Bumrah had a crucial role for India to set up the top English batting line-up collapse.
On his comeback spell, which was a brilliant decision by the Indian captain Shubman Gill, Bumrah picked up the wicket of English captain Harry Brook (1) for cheaply, as Rohit Sharma took the catch at the slip. Bumrah finished the match with bowling figures of 9-0-31-1, with his only wicket of the match being his 150th ODI wicket.
Completing 150 ODI wickets in 90 ODIs, Bumrah became the second-fastest Indian pacer and third-fastest Indian bowler to complete 150 ODI wickets.

However, there was a bigger story for Bumrah than this one. While he has already picked up 234 Test wickets and 121 T20I wickets, the right-arm fast bowler became the first Indian bowler and third overall bowler to record 200 Test wickets, 150 ODI wickets, and 100 T20I wickets. It is a special achievement to prove to be a great bowler in all-round formats in international cricket.
