South African wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock scored his third century at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. The left-handed batter became the first South African cricketer to hit three centuries in an ODI World Cup edition and the second overall wicketkeeper-batter to record three ODI World Cup hundreds.

It was the South Africa vs Bangladesh match at Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai) at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. After South Africa elected to field first, although the Proteas were struggling at 36/2 in 7.5 overs, wicketkeeper-batter and opener Quinton de Kock batted powerfully to set up the team to the big first innings total.

While De Kock had a 131-run partnership for the third wicket with the stand-in skipper Aiden Markram, De Kock completed his 20th ODI century in 101 balls with the help of six fours and four sixes. After scoring centuries in their first two matches in this tournament (100 vs Sri Lanka and 109 vs Australia), De Kock recorded his third century in this competition by managing a three-figure against Bangladesh.
