During the high-voltage India vs Pakistan match at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, while the hosts outclassed their arch-rivals, the Indian captain Rohit Sharma completed a historic ODI milestone. The right-handed batter became the first Indian and third overall batter to hit 300 ODI sixes.
Ahmedabad hosted that ODI World Cup match, where the unbeaten India completed an eight-match winning streak against Pakistan in ODI World Cup history.
After India sent Pakistan to bat first in the 12th game at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, Pakistan were once strongly fighting on 155/2. However, Rohit Sharma’s brilliant captaincy and incredible Indian bowling team effort bundled out Pakistan for only 191 runs.
At chasing, Indian captain Rohit Sharma batted powerfully as his 86 runs off 63 balls were enough for the hosts to secure a strong and important victory. Also, Shreyas Iyer scored 53 not out in 62 balls as India chased down the 192 runs target in 30.3 overs after losing three wickets.

Rohit Sharma: 1st Indian and 3rd overall to hit 300 ODI sixes
Before that match, the leading international six-hitter Rohit already hit 297 ODI sixes and was only three sixes away from his 300 ODI sixes. During the incredible batting performance against Pakistan, the right-handed Indian opening batter Rohit smashed six sixes and six fours.

After hitting one six each to Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Nawaz, Rohit hit his third over-boundary of the match to Haris Rauf over mid-on. It was his 300th ODI six. With that sixer, Rohit became the first Indian to complete 300 sixes in ODI cricket.
Meanwhile, after Pakistani Shahid Afridi and Caribbean Chris Gayle, Rohit became the third batter to hit at least 300 ODI sixes. Rohit ended the game with 303 ODI sixes.
