During the last game of the three-match T20I series between the hosts India and the visitors Afghanistan at Bengaluru, Indian captain Rohit Sharma created a new world record as the right-handed opening batter recorded the most T20I centuries by becoming the first batter to score five T20I centuries.

It was a high-scoring thriller of India vs Afghanistan, where the hosts India won the match in the second Super Over. 

While Rohit Sharma’s fifth T20I century guided the Indian team to score 212/4 in 20 overs after a horrific start, Afghanistan also replied with 212/6 in 20 overs.


After the first Super Over battle was tied (Afghanistan 16/1; India 16/0), India won the second Super Over battle (India 11/2; Afghanistan 1/2).

With that closest victory, India won the three-match home T20I series by 3-0.
