I have been tested and unfortunately, I am COVID positive: Shahid Afridi

The Former Pakistani all-rounder took to Twitter on Saturday to reveal that he had tested positive for covid19 and sought prayers for his speedy recovery.

Shahid Afridi tweeted on Saturday afternoon that he had been feeling unwell since Thursday and unfortunately he has been tested positive for covid19.


“I’ve been feeling unwell since Thursday; my body had been aching badly. I’ve been tested and unfortunately, I’m COVID positive. Need prayers for a speedy recovery, InshaAllah,” Afridi wrote on his Twitter account.

Over 76,00,000 people have been affected by coronavirus globally. Pakistan have active cases of over 82,000 as of June 13.


Afridi has been actively helping out people during this pandemic through his organization 'Shahid Afridi Foundation’.


He had also asked Indian cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh to urge people to donate to his foundation. Recently, he faced a backlash from Indian cricketers and fans for his ill comments on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his visit to Pakistan occupied Kashmir.


The former Pakistani all-rounder is the third Pakistani cricketer to be tested positive for coronavirus after Taufeeq Umar and Zafar Sarfaraz.
