Taskin Ahmed has reached 300 international wickets, becoming just the sixth Bangladeshi bowler — and only the second fast bowler after Mashrafe Mortaza — to hit the mark.
The milestone came on Day 1 of the 1st Test against Australia at Marrara Oval, Darwin, where the 31-year-old finished with figures of 2 for 55 as Bangladesh skittled the hosts out for 198, Australia's lowest-ever Test total against Bangladesh.

Taskin wasn't even the only Bangladeshi to make history on Day 1. Hasan Mahmud ran through Australia's batting with 6 for 55 — the best-ever Test figures by a Bangladeshi bowler against Australia — as the hosts collapsed from 74 for 4 to all out for 198, their first-ever sub-200 total against Bangladesh in tests. Steve Smith's 71 was the lone act of resistance.
Bangladesh closed the day at 96 for 1, still trailing by 102 but very much in the contest they were expected to lose.
