The Narendra Modi Stadium is not just the largest cricket stadium in India but the largest in the world beating the iconic MCG in terms of capacity by over 30,000 seats. This stadium was first put into cricketing use last year in the series against England where Two test matches and 5 T20I matches were played and the fans were present in the stadium for the two test matches and the first 2 T20IS and even at 50% capacity it was bigger than most stadiums in India, that’s how big it is. In the future, all the important matches and the World Cup finals will be played in this massive stadium and more than 132,000 fans will be able to enjoy the cricket.

 

2. Eden Gardens (Kolkata): 


Before the Narendra Modi Stadium was built in Ahmedabad last year , for many decades the iconic Eden Gardens was the largest cricket stadium in India by a fair distance and all the players loved playing in it. Before the capacity of Eden Gardens was more than 1 lakh but once the chairs were put, the capacity reduced to 80,000 but it’s still the second largest in India and the 3rd largest in the world.

 

3. Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International cricket stadium (Raipur): 


It is the third largest cricket stadium in India with a capacity of 65.400 and it is also a stadium which has come about in the last decade and the facilities in this Stadium are amazing. In 2013, this stadium hosted some IPL matches and then in 2015, it hosted IPL matches and there the stadium got some recognition but it was the Road safety series held between 2020-21 where this magnificent cricket stadium got its limelight.

 

4. Rajiv Gandhi international cricket stadium (Hyderabad): 


It is one of the oldest cricket stadiums in the country and has seen a host of test matches and ODIs and many players have excelled here and got fane and recognition. The 55,000 seating stadium is a thing of beauty but it got all its funny when the Sunrisers Hyderabad was in the IPL and they played their Matches here.

 

5. Greenfield International Stadium ( Thiruvananthapuram): 


This spectacular cricket stadium in Thiruvananthapuram first hosted international matches in 2017 and then in 2018 it hosted its first ODI. This Stadium can seat 55,000 passionate cricket lovers and cheer for India. The players really like playing here as well.

 

6. M.A Chidambaram Stadium (Chennai): 


One of the most popular cricket stadiums in the country and even more so since the year 2008 when the Chennai Super Kings started playing in the IPL at this Stadium. This 50,000 capacity stadium feels like a theatre whenever India or CSK play here.

 

7. JSCA International cricket stadium (Ranchi): 


This 50,000 seating stadium in Ranchi is home to one of the most passionate fan bases in the entire country. In 2013, this stadium hosted its first international match and it is also the home ground of MS Dhoni who has loved to play in his Home stadium.

 

8. Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium ( Lucknow):


This international cricket stadium in Lucknow which holds around 50,000 spectators is one of the newer stadiums in the country with not a lot of matches being hosted there and now that there is an IPL team from Lucknow, most likely the world will get to see this stunning cricket stadium.

 

9. Vidarbha Cricket Stadium (Nagpur): 


This cricket stadium in Nagpur which can dear 45,000 people is one of the newer stadiums in the country as it started hosting international matches since 2008 and some of the matches held here have been very good for the Indian team so the fans look forward to go to this stadium and cheer for India.

 

10. Barabati Stadium (Cuttack): 


This is one of the oldest active cricket stadiums in the country as it was established in 1958. This stadium can seat 45,000 passionate Orissa cricket supporters who do not often get to see team India but when they do they make sure that everyone remembers them.
