Vaibhav Sooryavanshi 175 in U19 World Cup 2026 Final

175 in an ODI World Cup! Now, where have we seen that before by an Indian? In 1983, Kapil Dev out of nowhere smacked 175 against Zimbabwe to keep India alive in the ODI World Cup and fast forward to 2026, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has scored the same in the Under-19 World Cup Final against England.

In a high-pressure game like the final, the 14-year old batted like he has been playing cricket since a long time. He showed no nerves from the start and batted like a champion till he was dismissed. Vaibhav had an inconsistent tournament until the final and he chose the biggest moment to show what he is capable of.

In an innings which showed tremendous power, Sooryavanshi spared no England bowler. From Morgan to Green, Sooryavanshi took everyone apart. He reached his century in just 55 balls and then continued to go berserk, eventually finishing on 175 off just 80 balls. His knock consisted of 15 fours and 15 sixes (150 runs in boundaries).

He was finally dismissed by Manny Lumsden but the damage had been done by then as India were all set to score a big one.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s knock of 175 is the highest in a knockout or a final in Youth ODIs and he stands ninth in the all-time high scores list in Youth ODIs.
