Virat Kohli and ICC Tournaments the unsolved mystery

Yet another ICC tournament and Virat Kohli has intact his record of not winning a trophy as it is like in the previous editions in his entire career. Where we have to start about dissecting team India's performance in the tournament with the bunch of their favourite players to play the tournament on the random criteria to decide the playing XI of the team. Is it club level cricket or professional cricket where merit ones get the chance to play cricket but we forget with the revolution of IPL cricket has become the mere business to promote brands or to earn money from it. Stuart Binny, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya or Ishan Kishan get the chance to represent the nation. Where players like Unmukt Chand who was the next big thing in Indian Cricket history were the headlines at once in 2012 had ended up in shadows of uncertainties along with another talent like Taruwar Kohli.

Cricket boards have scheduled the series without any idea where IPL gets clashes  with the T20 World Cup. The priority to IPL is so important then why boards look to have the T20 World Cup when we can cancel test matches like in England earlier. But in the end it’s the business to promote cricket like the way the big boards want to and they are doing it and no in the experts column have the right to question the integrity of the game.

In the World Cup history which was not happened in 29 years has finally happened when Babar Azam and co has ended the streak of team India to remain undefeated in the world cup. A victory by 10 Wickets where Indian batsman were outplayed by the class of Shaheen Afridi in his opening spell. The leading run scorer of IPL KL Rahul was stunned by the beauty of Shaheen Afridi when inswinger has ripped off his stumps. A big match player Virat Kohli has all the records and runs in his cabinet but in the ICC tournaments, he has failed not once but again and again to leave him in shambles. Although he has said it will be his last World Cup as a captain which was again biased from him as his decision came before the start of the tournament but a captain should deliver such a message in the end as it has affected the performance of the team against quality teams.

But our captain is very stubborn who only believes in his extinct to do whatever he wants with team changes or line up. Even against the New Zealand team, India was sloppy in fielding when we are termed as the fittest in world cricket. While in the last three games against associate nations we have played cricket opposite to New Zealand and Pakistan which was surprised to see that team has now left to play cricket against such sides.

Who’s responsible for such absurd performance in the big tournament captain, coach, management, or the IPL. Somewhere it’s the coach’s fault more who’s on his last World Cup as a coach and was looking to end things in a hurry when mentor MS Dhoni was there for the team. It seems two groups are there in the team one with Kohli other against Kohli which was evident in the world cup. If there was a world cup few players could’ve skipped IPL a few games to play cricket without any hassle of time period. Even some of the former Cricketers like Wasim Akram, Sunil Gavaskar, and Kapil Dev have questioned team India’s performance by giving priority to franchise cricket over country cricket which results inhibits their performance.

With the new head coach Rahul Dravid who has been recently appointed after Ravi Shastri exit looking to bring the change in the dressing room and to end the drought of not winning ICC tournaments.
