Yet another ICC tournament and Virat Kohli has intact his record of not winning a trophy as it is like in the previous editions in his entire career. Where we have to start about dissecting team India's performance in the tournament with the bunch of their favourite players to play the tournament on the random criteria to decide the playing XI of the team. Is it club level cricket or professional cricket where merit ones get the chance to play cricket but we forget with the revolution of IPL cricket has become the mere business to promote brands or to earn money from it. Stuart Binny, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya or Ishan Kishan get the chance to represent the nation. Where players like Unmukt Chand who was the next big thing in Indian Cricket history were the headlines at once in 2012 had ended up in shadows of uncertainties along with another talent like Taruwar Kohli.
Cricket boards have scheduled the series without any idea where IPL gets clashes with the T20 World Cup. The priority to IPL is so important then why boards look to have the T20 World Cup when we can cancel test matches like in England earlier. But in the end it’s the business to promote cricket like the way the big boards want to and they are doing it and no in the experts column have the right to question the integrity of the game.
