Virat Kohli Reaches New Milestone in T20 Cricket, Becomes 1st Indian To Reach

After Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya chose to field first, RCB scored 221/5 in 20 overs. In reply, the hosts MI made a great comeback lately after a poor reply from the top and top-middle-order batters. However, Tilak Varma (56) and captain Hardik Pandya (42)’s desperate battles just went in vain as RCB won by 12 runs after restricting the hosts to 209/9 in 20 overs. It was the first win for RCB against MI at Wankhede Stadium since 2016.  

During the first innings of the match, former RCB captain Virat Kohli set a strong base for the visitors with his 29-ball 50 runs. With the help of eight fours and two sixes, Kohli scored 67 off 42 balls before the MI skipper Hardik Pandya dismissed him. Kohli had two crucial partnerships of 91 runs with Devdutt Padikkal for the second wicket and 48 runs with the skipper Rajat Patidar for the third wicket.

Virat Kohli: 1st Indian to complete 13000 runs in T20 cricket

During that innings, Kohli completed 13000 T20 runs and became the first Indian to complete 13000 runs in T20 cricket. The right-handed batter became the fifth cricketer to reach the 13000 T20 runs milestone.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are the only two Indian batters to reach the 10000 T20 runs milestone. Rohit (11868 runs) is yet to reach the 12000 T20 runs milestone.
