The Manchester City striker has been absolutely unstoppable since blanking against Bournemouth in Gameweek 1. He has subsequently scored in every Premier League game, highlighting once again why he remains the most reliable premium forward in FPL.
Manchester City face Sunderland this weekend, and it is difficult to imagine a better opportunity for Haaland to continue his incredible scoring run.
His £15.5m price tag is enormous, but Haaland's consistency makes him arguably the safest forward option in the game. He remains the player to build your FPL attack around.
2. Kai Havertz (Arsenal) — £7.6m
Kai Havertz is one of the most intriguing forward options for Gameweek 5.
The Arsenal attacker has started the season in excellent form and now faces Brighton, a fixture that could provide plenty of opportunities for the Gunners' attack.
Havertz also has an impressive personal record against the Seagulls, having registered four goals and one assist in just eight Premier League appearances against them.
With Arsenal currently playing some outstanding football, their attacking players are naturally among the most appealing FPL assets this week.
At just £7.6m, Havertz offers an attractive combination of form, fixture and value. For managers who don't prefer Haaland, he could be one of the best premium alternatives in the forward position.
3. Danny Welbeck (Chelsea) — £5.9m
João Pedro was our original choice for this spot, but with the Brazilian recently picking up an injury, we are switching to Danny Welbeck, who could coincidentally be the player most likely to replace him in Chelsea's attack.
Welbeck brings plenty of Premier League experience to the table and remains an appealing option at just £5.9m. His proven record at this level makes him an intriguing budget forward, particularly if he gets the opportunity to lead the line for Chelsea in Gameweek 5.
There is also an encouraging historical record behind the pick. Welbeck has scored four goals in eight Premier League appearances against Brentford, averaging a goal against the Bees every two games.
Chelsea face Brentford away this weekend, so the fixture is certainly not straightforward. However, Welbeck's potential role, affordable price and proven Premier League pedigree make him an interesting differential option for FPL managers looking to save money in attack.
4. Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Leeds) — £6.0m
If you're looking for a cheaper forward with serious upside, Dominic Calvert-Lewin deserves plenty of consideration.
The Leeds striker was one of the standout performers in their stunning 4-1 victory over Newcastle, finishing the game with both a goal and an assist.
That performance should provide Calvert-Lewin with enormous confidence heading into the next Gameweek.
Leeds face Crystal Palace, giving DCL another opportunity to continue his impressive run. The fixture looks favourable on paper, and his £6.0m price makes him particularly appealing for managers attempting to strengthen other areas of their squad.
He may not have the explosive reputation of Haaland, but Calvert-Lewin could prove to be one of the best-value forwards available this week.
5. Liam Delap (Nott'm Forest) — £5.5m
Liam Delap is our ultimate budget forward for Gameweek 5.
The Nottingham Forest striker has impressed since joining Oliver Glasner's side and finally scored his first goal for the club against Aston Villa last week.
Now he gets arguably the perfect fixture to build momentum.
Forest face Coventry at home, and given Coventry's struggles so far this season, this could be an excellent opportunity for Delap to find the net again.
At only £5.5m, Delap is particularly attractive for managers who need a budget forward. His ownership is also considerably lower than the likes of Haaland and João Pedro, meaning another goal could provide a significant advantage in mini-leagues.
He is undoubtedly a gamble, but this could be the exact type of fixture in which a differential forward delivers a huge haul.
Final Verdict
Erling Haaland is the obvious number-one forward for Gameweek 5, combining incredible form with an attractive fixture.
