Best FPL forwards - GW 2
Erling Haaland (Manchester City, £14.0)
Many football fans wrote Erling Haaland off after his underwhelming 2024-25 Premier League season, but he ended up silencing all his critics with a stunning brace against Wolves in Manchester City's 4-0 win. If anything The Norwegian reminded everyone why he is still one of the best strikers in world football. Although Manchester City will have a tough Premier League fixture against Tottenham in Gameweek 2, we still see Haaland as one of the Best fpl attackers for this week.
Hugo Ekitike (Liverpool, £8.6)
Whether it was in Liverpool's pre-season games or his official Premier League debut for the Reds against Bournemouth, Hugo Ekiteke has so far justified the hype around him and put up promising performances. The former PSG striker is currently on a good run of form, and we expect that to continue when Liverpool face Newcastle away at St James’ Park. Additionally , He would undoubtedly be more fired up for the match since Liverpool are still aggressively pursuing Newcastle striker Alexander Isak despite signing him.
Viktor Gyökeres (Arsenal, £9.0)
Many expected Viktor Gyökeres to hit the ground running when Arsenal faced Manchester United at Old Trafford. However he appeared rusty and looked like a player who needs some more time to adjust to the Premier League. Arsenal will be facing newly-promoted Leeds United at Arsenal though, and we predict Gyökeres to score a goal or 2 to open his EPL goalscoring account. Undoubtedly one of the best FPL strikers this week if you're willing to take a gamble.
Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest, £7.6)
After enjoying the most special season of his career in the 2024-25 Premier League, many were of the opinion that Chris Wood was a one-season wonder and the goals will surely slow down in the 2025-26 Premier League season. How wrong could those people be, as Chris Wood ended up scoring a brace when Forest faced Brentford in Gameweek 1. Forest will now face Crystal Palace in GW 2, and it looks highly likely that the striker would end the game with some attacking returns for Fantasy Premier League Game Week 2.
Eliezer Mayenda (Sunderland, £5.5)
Eliezer Mayenda is undoubtedly one of the Best budget forwards in FPL for Gameweek 2. After playing a key role in Sunderland's surprise 3-0 victory over West Ham, he would be hoping to build on the momentum. Sunderland will be facing Leeds United in Gameweek 2, thus setting up an exciting fixture between 2 of the 3 newly promoted clubs. Mayenda will be facing a familiar opponent in Leeds, and this may help him get some sort of attacking returns for GW 2.
