FPL Gameweek 14: Top 4 Player Picks for Gameweek 14

The FPL deadline is rapidly approaching towards the deadline in just 28 hours.

December is the busiest month of football in the Premier League. Even the weekdays are now surrounded by a flair of excitement with the Premier League fixture line-up.  Merseyside derby, Arsenal vs Manchester United are just a glimpse of the thrill which the month of December holds in its baggage. For some fans who are just recovering from a low scoring game week, now is the time for them to bounce back into the action. Midweek games feature a lot of rotation to keep the players fit and safe from injuries. Now is possibly the perfect time to cash in your wildcards, free hit and bench boost.

With this we bring you the top 4 picks for the upcoming deadline:

4) Hee-Chan Hwang (5.8m) Wolves vs Burnley

Burnley will take a trip at Molineux Stadium on a cold winter night with some expected drizzles. Under the management of Sean Dyche Burnley has struggled to perform this season. They currently stand in the relegation zone with 3 points off safety. Their lack of depth and quality in their squad has proved to be a major reason for their downfall this season. Wolves hold an upper hand in their home even with their injury list. Hwang has taken the Premier League by storm in his debut season for Wolves. With 4 goals in his 9 appearances, Hwang is most likely to threaten on the attacking front for Wolves. He holds ownership of 12.4% with 42 points on the board.

3) Michail Antonio (8.1m) West Ham United vs Brighton

With 55 goals for West Ham, the Jamaican has moved into the top 5 scorers in the history of West Ham. Strong on the ball with natural striking instincts Antonio will give a hard time to Brighton’s defence. With 6 goals and 3 assists in 12 games, Antonio is thriving under David Moyes this season. He has featured in every fixture for West Ham this season. As a relatively cheaper option in comparison to the likes of Kane, Lukaku and Werner who are underperforming this season, Antonio is the option to go for. With ownership of 44.1% and 65 points, Antonio is a must to have in this game week.

2) Reece James (6.3m) Watford vs Chelsea

The young English right-back is the hottest prospect available in the market. He has flourished under Tuchel this season. He has left the likes of Lukaku, Werner and Havertz to become the highest goal scorer for Chelsea this season. His ability to create and score goals is an added bonus keeping Chelsea’s track record of clean sheets. Reece James will surely have an impact on the upcoming fixture. Danny Rose will need some help from his teammates to deal with James on the flanks. He currently holds 35.1% ownership and in 13 fixtures he has accumulated 76 points this season just a few points shy from Cancelo and Trent Arnold.

1) Virgil Van Dijk (6.6m) Everton vs Liverpool

The Dutch wall is back to justify his hefty price tag. As he missed most of the season last year, managers may ignore his impact in defence. His contribution in keeping clean sheets, attacking threats from set-pieces and crosses which break the opponent’s defensive structure is imminent. Van Dijk has certainly had an impact on Liverpool’s defence considering their last season. With 17.5% ownership and a total of 70 points, Van Dijk’s potential is currently being ignored by the managers. He can be vital in bringing points when the rest of the team may have an off day.
