Junior Kroupi Could Become a Fantasy Gem
Bournemouth youngster Junior Kroupi is arguably the most exciting positional switch this season. Reclassified from a forward to a midfielder, the Frenchman primarily operated as a No. 10 behind striker Evanilson during his breakthrough 2025/26 campaign.
Despite playing in a deeper attacking role, Kroupi scored 13 goals in 33 appearances, averaging a goal every 134.0 minutes. That was more than 50 minutes quicker than Bournemouth teammate Antoine Semenyo, whose 188.2 minutes per goal was the best among regular midfield starters last season.
As a midfielder, Kroupi will now receive five points per goal instead of four, along with an additional point for clean sheets, making him a potentially outstanding Fantasy asset.
Patrick Dorgu's New Role Boosts His Appeal
Manchester United's Patrick Dorgu also switches from defender to midfielder after spending much of the second half of last season playing as an advanced left winger under Michael Carrick.
Although he started only three league matches after Carrick's arrival in Gameweek 22, Dorgu scored in every one of those starts. He found the net against Arsenal and Manchester City while registering both a goal and an assist against Brighton & Hove Albion.
His underlying numbers were equally impressive. Dorgu averaged 33.2 minutes per shot, the quickest among United midfielders under Carrick, and matched Matheus Cunha's total of three big chances despite playing more than 800 fewer minutes.
Marmoush, Lewis-Skelly, and Wieffer Among Other Key Changes
Manchester City's Omar Marmoush has been reclassified from midfielder to forward after being deployed centrally by Pep Guardiola during his final season in charge. The Egyptian finished with three goals and three assists, but the forward classification may reduce some of his fantasy appeal due to the different scoring system.
Elsewhere, Mats Wieffer moves from midfield to defense after featuring predominantly at right-back for Brighton & Hove Albion throughout last season. If Brighton keeps clean sheets regularly, the Dutchman could become an intriguing defensive option.
Meanwhile, Arsenal's Myles Lewis-Skelly shifts from defender to midfielder, reflecting his evolving role within the Gunners' system.
