FC Goa spectacular start to the ISL 2023/24 season continued with a 3-0 victory against Chennaiyin FC. Boris Thangjam, Rowllin Borges and substitute Udanta Singh scored for the dominant win in which the opponents managed only one shot to six despite being the home team. The unbeaten run of the Gaurs was stretched to five games with this being their fourth win of the season. They, other than Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Mumbai City FC, are the only team left yet to suffer a defeat. The side also managed to keep their third clean sheet with only three goals conceded so far. FC Goa are willing to keep their excellent run going having not lost at home since February with Jamshedpur FC their next guests in Fatorda. Also picking up a 3-0 victory in this fixture last season, Marquez’s team will be confident to move back to the top of the table which they lost to Kerala Blasters who won their game against Hyderabad FC the other day.
Jamshedpur FC gave a fantastic fight with 10 players but ultimately came short in a 3-2 thriller loss to Mohun Bagan Super Giant at the Furnace. If substitute Steve Ambri’s shot did not hit the crossbar late in the game, the Men of Steels could have easily snatched a draw after Sanan Mohammed gave them the lead in the match while Ambri reduced the deficit from the spot. However, they were beaten by the class of Green and Maroon as they scored when mattered to draw out the match although the home side will be pleased about their performance. It was probably the best showing from Scott Cooper’s team but the result was once again negative. Jamshedpur FC remain 10th in the table with one win, two draws and three losses to their name. They have collected only five points from six matches and take a difficult trip to Goa next. The manager will want his side to use the previous performance as inspiration to change their fortunes this season.

Noah Sadaoui is expected to start games for FC Goa once again having fully healed from his injury, He is the only inclusion in the starting XI Manolo Marquez wants to make from their big win at Chennai. Visitors Jamshedpur FC will also have the entire squad to choose from except goalkeeper TP Rehenesh, serving his three-match ban due to a straight red card shown in the last game.
