FPL Gameweek 27 2021-22 Players to watch out for

After a huge double gameweek 26 where points were scored for fun, the FPL managers are all set for Gameweek 27. The fixtures kickoff tonight with the fixture between Southampton and Norwich followed by 6 games on Saturday. In a week where Arsenal and Liverpool will blank, there are things to sort out in the FPL team.

Here we are with our players to watch out for in Gameweek 27:

1) Wout Weghorst (€6.5m) – Crystal Palace (A), Leicester (H)

The lanky forward chose a rather perfect time to announce himself to the Premier League with a goal and an assist in the first of Burnley’s two games against Brighton. Burnley themselves look like an inspired side right now as seen in their 2 wins with clean sheets against Brighton and Spurs. Burnley’s form coupled with Weghorst’ s own ability makes him one of the top picks in FPL for Gameweek 27.

The fact that Burnley are the only team to have a double gameweek again this week, is another reason for considering Weghorst. Crystal Palace and Leicester whom Burnley face are not the best of sides defensively especially when it comes to set pieces. Weghorst can take advantage of it which makes him a top pick for the gameweek 27.

2) Riyad Mahrez (€8.7m) – Everton (A)

After a disappointing outing against Spurs last time around, Manchester City will need a reaction. Pep’s team are expected to come out all guns blazing when they face Lampard’s Everton. Priced at 8.7m in FPL, Riyad Mahrez who came off the bench to score a late penalty is our choice from City’s midfield for Gameweek 27.

Mahrez has scored in the last 4 of the 5 games he has started and the fact that he is also on penalties makes the decision easy. After being benched against Spurs he is expected to start against Everton. Everton are still a side in the rebuilding phase and City after a disappointing outing look raring to go. This makes Mahrez a great option to consider in FPL for Gameweek 27.

3) Son Heung-Min (€10.8m) – Leeds (A)

In what turned out to be a topsy-turvy gameweek 26 for Spurs, Son was one of the only bright sparks in that side. In a week where they faced Burnley and Spurs, Son returned 12 points in FPL with a goal against Manchester City. In Gameweek 27, Son and co. will face Leeds who are on a very poor run and will come into the match on the back of a 6-0 drubbing by Leeds.

The fixture run of Tottenham looks decent and with the form that Son is in, he looks set to haul against Leeds. Spurs will look for a reaction after the disappointment against Burnley and Leeds in gameweek 27 could be the fixture for it.

4) Armando Broja (€5.5m) – Norwich (H)

Broja has turned out to be a value-for-money asset in FPL so far. A total of 74 points is a decent output for a 5.5m priced striker. The Chelsea loanee has managed to score only twice in his last 6 game weeks but his performance has been inspiring.

Southampton, a side unbeaten in their last 4 matches will take on Norwich in Gameweek 27 and Broja could be a good option to consider in FPL not only for this gameweek but the fixtures ahead. At his price, he is also a decent enabler to invest the money in your squad elsewhere.

5) Ben Mee (€4.8m) – Crystal Palace (A), Leicester (H)

Burnley, a side known for their defensive strengths have not always produced FPL friendly options. However, that has not been the case recently. Sean Dyche’s men have conceded only 2 goals in their 6 last outings during which they faced the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Man United and Spurs.

In gameweek 26, Mee returned a haul of 21 points across the two games and yet another double gameweek in 27 for Burnley makes him an option to consider. As mentioned previously, Palace and Leicester are not the best of sides when it comes to defending set-pieces and Mee’s aerial threats can capitalize on it. Priced at only 4.8m, Mee is one to watch out for in this gameweek.
